Ham and Pinapple .....

So, picked up Abby from her Grandma and Grandpa's house - they were eating this....

It's Papa Johns - (my FAVORITE pizza) - it was ham and pinapple (my FAVORITE, other than cheese), and well, it wasn't heart shaped, but since it was Valentines this week it seemed appropriate.  :)

Well, Abby had already eaten a piece there - they offered me a slice - ummm....NO Thanks!!
Abby wanted to bring one home.  We got home, was about to make dinner, and said, well, let me try it.  Okay - one bite.  Okay.  Chewed well - went to second bite.  Immediately didn't feel right - went to fridge - chugged water (another big no-no!) - needless to say - I wasn't feeling too hot.  Sat down.  Just knew it was stuck.  Didn't feel nauseated, just pain in my chest.  Got up thinking maybe I should go into bathroom just in case....went in there and waited, and waited, and waited.  And then it happened - started throwing it up.  Just lovely.  It kept coming and coming .... but it wasn't like "regular" throwup.  So when I was done, I feltmuch better - MUCH better.  Still didn't have anything else for supper though.  :/

So I guess that's one way this surgery works - I already knew if I ate something bad as far as sweets, it would make me sick the other way - def. don't want that....  and I knew the possibility of vomitting, and didn't like that a bit!  But it happened, and now I know.  And I will NOT be having any more pizza from Papa Johns!  I will attempt one day, to make my own, though.  And hope that I do fine from it.

Week 3 1/2

Today - we are all sitting at home, not doing much of anything.  Ben not feeling well, me not too great either, then both of the girls with yucky noses and Abby with a cough as well - yuck!  Ready for some spring weather and lots and lots of sunshine!

Wanted to share a few pictures with you... Warning - this first one is scary!  Lol....

This was taken with my phone - thanks Ben for the memory...lol.  I was OUT of IT.

Pretty view of Atlanta the next morning - as the sun was coming up / moon going down

Here are a couple of shots from 2 weeks...

and 3 weeks out...

Can't tell much of a difference yet.  We'll see the further out it gets.  :)

I'm having a hard time getting my vitamins in - I literally gag at the thought of them, start heaving at trying to take them.  They are chewable, but I just can't get it in.  :(  That's not good.  Also - I'm REALLY tired of chicken - it seems too dry and my stomach just doesn't want it.  And.....having a hard time with my protein shakes, as well.  So I've been pretty much on liquids - and popsicles, and a bite or two of chicken here and there.  yeah...ugh.  I've got to start doing better...

Introduction...

So...I decided to start this blog as a way to show and record my progress in my weight loss adventure.

I decided to have gastric bypass surgery back during the early summer 2010 - After all pre-clearances,etc, I was approved and scheduled to have my RNY Jan. 20, 2011.  I couldn't have been more excited.

Someone asked me what was my "breaking point" - like what clicked in my mind that said "it's time to do it."  For me, it wasn't really anything - while I was pregnant with Allie-bug, I was talking to a friend that works with Ben, who, in my opinion, didn't really need it anyways, had had it done, and she looked great.  She just casually mentioned when I was ready - after the baby and everything that I could talk to her and she'd help me out.  Insurance would pay 100%.  I was like, hmmm.  Okay.  Sounds good.  So after baby, after nursing, I started looking into it.

I never really got nervous going into it.  Just excitement.  Haven't regretted it yet.  I am exactly 3 weeks out and doing pretty good!  Some days I struggle more with protein, some days its more with getting fluids in, somedays it's vitamins, somedays its all of the above.

I will try to update this often, and of course pictures too.

This was December 18, 2010
Dress size 30 - altered to fit me, but no alterations basically below the bust.
Close up.  Loved the dress, was actually comfortable, but looked like I was squeezed into a potatoe sac.
Christmas Eve - size 30P pants.  4X top.  Me and my sweet husband.  :)

Day after Christmas with my family.

Pre-op appt. was Jan. 5th, 2011, weighed in 314lbs. at the office.
These two were taken the night before surgery - Jan 19.

Please excuse the ratty old gown.  :)

I have to upload the pictures from 2 weeks out.  And then maybe I'll have some for 3 weeks - and update my weights too.
